The DMV should issue a sign to be used by cars being operated by someone with a learners permit. It could inform other drivers that the car they are behind is being driven by a new or inexperienced driver. It might help the new driver avoid impatient drivers and give other drivers a reason to show patience if the car in front of them is driving overly cautious or unpredictable.

Maybe something like the old "Baby On Board" signs except the sign would say "Noobie Driver On Board"? Or the more serious, "New Driver On Board." I like the idea.

In Australia we have two levels of beginner driver. Learners typically must be accompanied by a licenced driver and MUST display a square yellow magnet with a Black letter L on it on the front and back of the car. Later when the driver is allowed to drive without another Licensed driver but has various other restrictions (no alchohol, speed limitations Etc) they are called Provisional drivers. these drivers must display a White magnetic square with a red letter P front and back of the car...
The squares are about 20 cm Square and are cheap to purchase.
