Maybe the Shark really should have won!!! How many times did the shark die in that famous movie that we all love and fear? J@vv$ was one of the best movies written about a shark, however, maybe, just maybe the Shark should not have died in every movie. Would have made the movie just a little bit more believable, rather than believing that the original shark had family members that got mad at the Brody family for what Martin Brody did to their son or daughter or cousin, etc....

American audiences need closure and justification. The hero has to win in the end by blowing up the bad guy - in this case, the shark. Some Asian cultures however find the death of the hero in an honorable situation quite fulfilling, but this typically loses the American audience. Just look at the box office failure of Matrix Revolutions. Consequently, the shark sequels suggest a common American concept; revenge, on the part of the shark's family - the old Hatfield and McCoy feud.
