The last time I saw someone wearing a black formal cape was Darth Vader. But I will say if we bring back capes, we should get rid of neck ties in the office. Formal ties are fine, but nothing is more ridiculous than a Victorian phobia for buttons and a restricted blood and air flow in the one place where you need more of the latter to think intelligently and much less of the former for much the same reason.
