Rent a Delorean and park it out front of the party. Add some stuff onto the back of it to make it like the time machine from Back To The Future

You can always tell the invites to dress up like their favorite character from that time...will make it more fun...
make drinks that were popular at the time
select the music from the '80 and for those who don't like it or don't want to dance, make a game: in a dark little bag put some marbles...as much guests as you have and you should have a pair of each color or design so when one person takes ( for example a red one) from the bag, the other person that also gets the red one should dance with its pair...
decoration: find and put all around the place some Kubick's cubes, old tapes, and pictures that were popular at the time...
