College Football PLAYOFFS
Posted 09/08/2009 by pete in Sports | Submit idea in this category
Any fan of college football will tell you that the post-season (or lack of it) is a joke. Teams can go undefeated and not even be considered to play in the National Championship game.. However, on the other hand, the NCAA would argue that by having a playoff system, that would take away the Bowl game experience, and more importantly, the sponsors.
My idea involves implementing a playoff system, while keeping the bowl games. It's pretty simple actually....each playoff game is it's own bowl game. So for example, the quarter-finals would consist of the Fiesta Bowl and the Orange Bowl, while the semi-final games would consist of the Rose Bowl and Cotton Bowl, etc. This would all lead to the final National Championship Bowl game.
Something really needs to be done, and I think this would keep the bowl game experience and sponsorship money, while having a fair post-season system, and would also avoid polls from picking who the national champions are.
