not always a beachy thing!

I'm at the beginning of planning my honeymoon and realized - it doesn't always have to be a tropical place! We're planning a great sight-seeing/relaxing two weeks in Italy. To keep it from becoming a tourist fest, running from vatican city to Vesuvius to Naples, we chose a small region to focus our two weeks on that had alot within an hour or two: The Amalfi Coast is directly south, Pompeii and Herculaneum are just north, and Capri and Procida - two great islands with cliffside hotels and caves/grottos - are just off the coast. We may not be strolling white sands in swimsuits considering we're going in October, but with the famous volcano, its lost cities, and REALLY cool grottos - I think it'll still be a great honeymoon!

Sounds wonderful! And if anybody still wants to hit the beach, there is that little stretch across from the Hotel Marina Riviera off Strada Statale 163 in Salerno.
